Shamattawa Team Tuesday 7-19-16
Morning has broken and it’s a beautiful day in Shamattawa. Sunshine and cool here. Quiet in town today. Still preparing a bit for the afternoon crafts etc. One of the older kids Dyrell showed up at the door this morning wanting to visit. Somehow the kids find us no matter where we are. We have not stayed in the same place twice in 8 years, but somehow word gets around. After lunch, we prepared for the VBS kids to start coming. Once again we will be outside as no schoolroom or inside area available. It’s good that we have had no rain during the teaching time. Paul and Silas in prison, was the lesson for the day. We learned about how God protects us even in the most desperate situations. The craft for the day was making a “sin chain”, where the children made a paper chain with sins written on each link, then attached to the cross on the fence. After class today the Mennonite missionaries that are in town held a free hot dog feed for the kids, and or anyone who wanted to come. That went until 5:00. Supper at 6:00, then Preteen Bible Study until 9:00 or so. The lesson prep after that until 10:00, Devotions and bedtime for some by 10:30. Others up later.
