The Story People by Heather Kaufman
When Ben Palermo inherited his uncle’s bookstore in small-town New Holden,
Indiana, it was like stepping back in time. The nostalgia, however, is tainted by a
painful past, one that Ben would rather leave behind. Can he stay in this town and run the business that holds so many conflicting memories for him? Or will he finally sell? When a group of well-meaning women make it their mission to keep him in town by finding him a wife, his life is about to get more interesting … and
Rosemary is a children’s author and illustrator with a painful history of her own. When she meets Ben, she is overwhelmed by his disarming charm … and familiarity. But when a series of events casts Ben in a suspicious light and a persistent friend makes claims on her heart, Rosemary must discover the truth in order to finally
reconnect with her past.
The Story People is a celebration of the connection forged when a book is opened, loved, and shared and the vision and purpose found when letting God use you
wherever you are.
Sunday, August 20 is the date. Tours begin at noon, Ice Cream Social at 1:30 pm, Worship at 2:30 pm and Dinner at 4:00 pm. Rev. Bruce Timm, former camp staff and current pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud will lead the worship service. All are welcome for any of the above events.
We annually have a “clean-up” day for the congregation to participate in maintenance of the church property. If you have any questions about what needs to be done or if you need to purchase any materials for the task, please contact of the Trustees Board members. There is no deadline for completion other than the Summer of 2017. Please sign up to complete one or more of the tasks and note the date it was completed. If you would like to add to the list, please feel free to do so. Thank you from the Board of Trustees and the members of Trinity Lutheran Church!
Everyone is welcome to fellowship in the narthex Sunday, August 20th hosted by Burke and Joann Schultz in honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Refreshments will be served by their family.

Save the Date! — Sunday, October 8th
The Board of Local Outreach is sponsoring a hymn sing on Sunday, October 8th at 2:00 pm. The hymn sing is in honor of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Kantor Richard Resch will provide a brief lecture and then lead us through some of the great hymns of Lutheranism. Kantor Resch is a highly regarded musician within the Lutheran Church. While serving as professor and Kantor at Concordia Theological Seminary, he conducted the seminary’s Kantorei choir for over 30 years, recording six CDs with the choir. Kantor Resch also served on the Synod’s Commission on Worship and the LCMS Hymnody Committee for the Lutheran Service Book. Please mark this date on your calendars and invite your friends and family to join us! The exact time will be announced soon!
Since there aren’t many meeting opportunities to give mites this summer, the LWML will have the mite box available in the narthex of the church on the 1st Sunday of each month for you to place your mites into. Don’t forget the LWML Retreat at Lutheran Island Camp on August 11-13. Attend 1, 2, and/or 3 days. Anyone bringing a 1st timer and the 1st timer will receive a 25% discount on their registration fee. The theme is “From the Womb to the Tomb.” The guest speaker will be Virginia Flo, Regional Director of Lutherans for Life. Her particular emphasis is in the area of physician assisted suicide. Registration forms will be available in the kiosk in the church narthex. The registration deadline is August 1st. If you chose to let Nadine Drevlow know of your plan to attend. We can carpool.
