Monthly 1:00 pm Divine Service

admin : October 4, 2017 2:17 pm : News

We will no longer be offering the Sunday, 1 pm, Divine Service.  We had hoped  that providing a service that would enable those who have difficulties attending the 9 am service would increase the number of people who attend Divine Service, however, that has not been the case.  The attendance has dropped to the point that it is no longer viable.

LWML Fall Regional Rally

admin : September 25, 2017 5:57 pm : News

Zion Lutheran Church of Alexandria is hosting the LWML Fall Regional Rally and extends an invitation to attend this on Friday, October 13th. Registration begins at 9:30 am, with the cost being $7.00. An opening devotion, Bible Study, Young Women’s Representative report on the National LWML Convention and short business meeting will be held in the morning. Following lunch, at 1:30 pm, we will hear from our special guest speakers, Nader and Georgette Alaraj, who are missionaries from POBLO (People of the Book Lutheran Outreach) International Ministries of Bloomington. POBLO is a Lutheran non-profit mission organization which targets international people in the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul areas. The goal of POBLO ministry is to reach out with love to those immigrants and refugees as Jesus would. POBLO missionaries will share with us how they work with the LCMS to facilitate and coordinate volunteers to develop relationships with these immigrants by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of their families. They will share how interested LCMS churches host an “International Friendship Center” by using their space and facilities. Volunteers from the LCMS use their God-given talents to teach English as a second language, citizenship, computer literacy, knitting, sewing, cooking and other engaging activities. POBLO feels that these activities bridge the cultural barriers and that allows for a way to introduce the message of the Gospel lovingly and actively.
Please plan to attend! The public is also invited. You are welcome to just join us to hear our guest speaker at 1:30 pm.

The Mite Box

admin : April 26, 2017 8:00 am : News

Mites may be coins or bills or checks given along with prayers for mission projects. Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the mite box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) program. These grants are for programs to promote the spreading of God’s Word near and far. Christ Serve Ranch/Lutheran Island Camp has been one of the recipients of a grant.

Everyone has an opportunity to support these mission projects by putting your mites in the big mite box the 1st Sunday of the month. Individuals can save their mites in their own small mite box found on the table by the greeting cards and then brought to church the 1st Sunday of the month to be but in the big mite box. The Trinity LWML thanks you for your support.
